Laura Seifried began her running journey with just two years of cross country in high school, followed by occasional short jogs a few times a year. In 2019, she signed up for her first half marathon and quickly fell in love with the training process. It reminded her of the discipline and structure she experienced while training in college to become a professional flute player.
Since then, Laura has completed 11 marathons in five years and has appeared in regional rankings in both 2024 and 2025. Laura joined LHTC and loves everyone on the team. She is on a mission to complete all six World Marathon Majors and, with Tokyo on her list, is close to achieving that goal (having already raced the U.S. majors twice each).
Laura’s long-term goal is to qualify for the Boston Marathon every year while continuing to improve, especially at shorter distances. She is currently training for her third Boston Marathon in 2026 and has plans to race Amsterdam in 2026 and return to Boston in 2027.
Despite a recent stress reaction in her right foot that forced her to miss the One City Marathon—where she had qualified for the elite field—Laura continues to build momentum. She has also qualified for the elite field at the Wineglass Half Marathon in Corning, NY.
Coached by Dustin Sweeney, Laura became a certified coach in 2025. She now helps athletes reach their goals, including a Boston Marathon qualifier, while others continue to achieve personal bests under her guidance.
